"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Helicopter flight to Kellog- June 12th

So we had discovered that there was a special flight to Kellog for the Ket festival. We arranged with Vladimir that he would pick us up from our house at 10am. We had some rather heavy deliveries for Mikhail in Kellog so we could not manage them by hand. The helicopter was due to arrive at 11am.

Vladimir had not been in a very good mood the day before. It felt like he was not very happy to see us. It turns out that he and Mikhail in Kellog have had a falling out, and as we were going to visit Mikhail this made him feel quite awkward. Mika and I went to his house at 10:15 when he had not turned up at 10:00 as agreed. He invited us in for a cup of tea.

We felt obliged to accept the tea as he was hosting us. We had a chat for 25 minutes during which he explained the situation to us. I was nervous about catching the helicopter. It was now 10:40. Vladimir explained that it depended on which route the helicopter was taking. It may have already been to Kellog or could still be on the way. Haven't they heard of radios?

So we literally had to run to the ticket office. Yura manned the fort there and booked a spot for us on the return helicopter from Kellog. We then grabbed Vladimir's son (not yet out of bed) and raced down in the jeep and trailer to pick up our bags. We did make the flight in time, but I hate leaving things to the last minute and it is really frustrating when other people have the power to make you late.

Our arrival in Kellog.
