Blessed are those that thirst

Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness.

That is why I am happy to not chase people. If people genuinely want to seek after God they will do so. It's not my job to know their heart or mind either. On top of all of that it is always hard to understand Siberian Asian culture. When someone says they will do something, you never know whether that means they actually will or whether they are just being polite. When someone does not come, having said they would, this does not mean that they have stood you up. It could mean anything. It could mean that they were just being polite. Or it could mean a variety of things came up that they had to do.

Anyway, we had hoped to see Artem again today, but he never called. I decided not to chase him, having called him yesterday and it not working out then either. He seems like a nice guy, who it would be fun to get to know more, but I am comfortable leaving that in God's hands. I will give Artem one more call tomorrow, the last chance to see him before we go. He may of course still choose to visit in Krasnoyarsk, when he comes to see his sister who lives very close to us.

This says nothing of Misha either. Who knows, perhaps he feels embarrassed coming here too often if he feels that people look down on him for not having a job.

Blessed are the poor in spirit. Misha qualifies here, as does Artem (mother in prison, does not know his father).

Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness. The choice is up to them, and is between them and God. But we are always free to pray for them.
