"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

34

Another year has passed. When I turned 33, some Russian friends remarked to me that 33 was the age Jesus died (and rose again of course). The question Russians ask when you turn 33 is whether you have accomplished any of your dreams in life. I need to remind myself that so many people live their lives on a tread mill and that I am very grateful to God for allowing me to live out my dreams. Many of them are a long way from being accomplished, but it was a big one to just get to Siberia in the first place and get started on them. So I could say that by 33 I was on track in life. Still, 34 rolling around makes me realise that life is not long and that we are only here for a short time. It is a joy to have a wonderful wife in Melody and child in Abigail to share it with. We look forward to God's timing as to when we will have more children. In the mean time, we are content with who and where we are and look forward to seeing many of you later in the year.

(P.s- What did we do for my birthday? On Saturday night a few of us went out to a steak restaurant. Melody had previously bought me my new iPod, which you can see on In One Ear. It was a wonderful birthday present from God to see Alona baptised, and then people came around to our place afterwards for communion, pizza and birthday cake.)
