We were able to visit our Evenki friend Katya with Mom and Dad. We have still not resumed Evenki lessons with Katya. This makes us wonder whether it will ever happen, but we do have other avenues opening up now. Katya really wants her daughter to do well in school before going to University in China. Perhaps she will feel she has more time in the future.
Katya is on the right. This is her living room.
Katya was in Canada in Yellowknife for a congress and consolation with indigenous peoples there. So there was plenty to talk about for Mom and Dad.
It's the end of the season anyway. Katya gave Abigail a bunch of flowers from her garden. Her daughter is in the background.
This was actually one of the very few miserable days we have had while Mom and Dad have been here.
A new Russian suburb.
Older dwellings in the same suburb.
There were lots of dogs at the bus stop on the way home.
A gated community on the way home. The governor lives here.
The walk home from the bus through the forest.
Our building.
