We are still in Krasnoyarsk for this weekend. This Saturday we are staying with Alyosha and Lena and will visit the Krasnoyarsk Vineyard church with them tomorrow. Incidentally the Krasnoyarsk Vineyard is the largest in Russia with nearly 200 people. There are only 7 Vineyards in Russia, so they are a small movement. The last few days we stayed with Kostya and Lena and are very thankful for their kind hospitality.
As we went for a walk today we passed this old gentleman playing away on his accordion. His music was enjoyable. Even as we stood there and admired his music people put around 20 rubles in his pile. So thankfully, this old man will not be going hungry tonight.
Back home on Monday, and then we will have a chance to reflect on our trip to Khakassia.

It must be interesting to see the cultural effects on a familiar setting like the Vineyard. I remember even going from B.C. to Saskatoon was quite a change in the kind of church the Vineyard was.
It is cool seeing the people of this area you are visiting since there were many workers in Shanghai which had come from the north and bare a close resemblance to these folks. There was actually a sister we met from Inner Mongolia who could be a family member there.
I enjoyed the service and the gentle attitude there.
What I didn't enjoy was hearing from some old friends, their lack of hope for growth of the ch in Russia. There is no strong ch planting movement in this country. The Vineyard is certainly not planting at all. Back in Australia the Vineyard is planting rapidly which is great to see.
The ch at large seems to be very confused here and lacking the faith that a big God can work miracles.

Yeah, it seems to be about times and seasons, doesn't it? I mean, Jesus was full of miracles and yet where did the first 30 years of His life go? I have been amazed again and again that the God who created everything with a word created it all to grow through seasons. He made everything to go through process. Sometimes the kids are anxious to grow up.
I know it is not what a planter wants to hear, but hey, seeds take time.
Interested that you said no planting movement. Perhaps in the circles you have come to know.
The one in Perm has planted in the high 200s in the last decade. I believe all are still functioning. No small feat at an average of over 20 a year. The question is where, and why/why not I think.
