We had three families around to our place this evening for "carols and lessons." It's an Anglican tradition to have 9 carols and 9 lessons (scripture reading) after each carol. Since we can't go to church on Christmas Eve here, we host church at our house. Melody cooked up a storm of finger foods ranging from home made cherry ripe balls (even better than the real thing) to turkey mince meat balls with cranberry sauce.
We sang our hearts out with our other expat sojourners here in Krasnoyarsk. It is a real encouragement to be able to worship Jesus the King at Christmas time, just as he deserves to be.

Later this evening I walked out to the rubbish bins. It was -10 and I was not wearing any long johns and it felt warm! Praise God that the forecast is now looking a lot better. For the next days it is:

Wednesday: -20, we have some guests arriving from the Altai.

There is no forecast below -21 even into the New Year. If it stays like this I will not complain at all. Ten days of near -40 weather have been too much for me. I really hope that's the end of it.
