After our last speaking engagement on Tuesday, we have been spending our last week with family before we fly out on Tuesday the 30th. Yesterday we went up to North Battleford to spend time with Matt and Sarah (Melody's youngest brother). It's never easy saying goodbye, which was made a little harder for Matt by the fact that it had slipped his mind that we are leaving on Tuesday.
The biggest thing we will miss in Canada next year is the wedding of Dan and Dorothy. Dan is Melody's other brother. Dan was one of my groom's men when Melody and I married. Dan and Dorothy got engaged while we have been here and will have an engagement party (NOT a Canadian tradition, so it is really great that they are having one) tomorrow. It was quite a surprise over all because when we arrived here at the end of July, Dan didn't even have a girl friend! They will marry in April next year and we are very happy for them, but quite disappointed that we will be unable to attend their wedding.
The above picture is the room where they will have their wedding reception, at the Western Development museum in North Battleford.
