"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Tuva Day 4

Sunday was a busy day. We attended two meetings from 10- 2:30. This was a good chance for Tuvans to hear of the proposed project to provide more resources for them in their language to help them in their work. This was received very warmly. The group picture above sang in the second meeting.

About 4 o'clock we left for a four hour drive to Ak Dovurak. It's the second largest city in Tuva, with a population of 20 000. The group we met with there are nearly 10 years old now. They are the most mature of all groups. There were families and kids running around, even an extended family. Most of the other groups we went to have a majority of women and few men. The group were waiting for us when we arrived at 8pm, with dinner all ready for us. We slept the night on matresses in the hall. Tom was stoking the fire over night. At about 5, it was getting hard to manage, it was not hot enough anymore and the coal would not burn. At 7, I was getting cold. We had to take all the coal out and start again, with fresh wood, before the fire was hot enough to add coal. By 8:30am we were all gathered around the fire as the hall was a little cold.

Some new friends that I met in Ak Dovurak. The one on the left dreams of being a pilot. I encouraged him of the future possibilities in Tuva and that all things are possible with God.

How wonderful that all things are possible with God! If you get the chance, have a look at a South African (low budget) film (true story) called 'Faith Like Potatoes'. Apparently it has even taken the secular South African market by storm, having sold out of nearly every store. Friends just having returned from there say that the estimates are that there is almost one in every home - which is MANY - and that big things are about to happen.
