The travel agent was trying to sell us lots of expensive fancy places with all the cons and swimming pools etc. But the one we have probably settled on is a site that sleeps 25 maximum, so we plan to book it out for the whole group. It has more of the feel of a church camp location, than a fancy resort. The whole place has a wooden rustic feel. There is room for group meetings. Outdoors there is room for soccer and volleyball. There is also a banya (see labels in the side column).
The location is close to the city but in nature. There will be opportunities for nature walks. One of the most famous walks is to a rock formation called "Stolby."
In case you are wondering how all this is possible with snow everywhere, don't! We plan to have this retreat in Summer at the end of June.
Some views of the resort from the outside.

This three wheeler motorbike was on site. Perhaps they use it for transfers from the city train station!

One of the bedrooms. There aren't any double beds, but the quality is quite reasonable.

The common areas for hanging out and meetings.

Last night we had student club again. We had a good time hosting an Evenki. We were able to watch the transformation story about the Inuit. It was quite moving and a very good night.

It will be lovely. There is something very, very special about Russian summers, they are so short and full of life and growth, and I always felt everybody is intensely appreciative of them. It's probably even more so in Siberia. You'll have to take some photos in the summer so we can compare.
Looks like it will be nice!
Hi sue-ann! I'd love to catch up. Can you get your parents to forward your email address to my dad?
