Patriotism

The Turks are very patriotic. Their flag is everywhere. They also love their modern founder, Ataturk. He built the new nation after world war 1 and the crumbling of the Ottoman empire. Ataturk simply means, "father of the Turks." It seems that nearly every shop keeper has a picture of him.


Our cook for lunch, after church. He was in no hurry at all. It took him over half an hour to make our Turkish style pizzas. He was a nice guy though.
