"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

The joys of packing

No matter how many times we pack, it never gets easier. I think we are trying to take the approach of "what do we actually need to take" as opposed to just cutting things out.
Leaving is full of emotional rites of passage: commissioning service, farewell party, family goodbyes. There is a tunnel of nerves to go through when dragging your family around the world.
I'm wondering if it will be easier when we come on home assignment next time - with a home in Russia to go back to. One thing for sure is that it's always easier once the first plane has taken off.
