"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Team candidates

We are in the midst of building a team at the moment. It's been a long time coming, but it is exciting for us. In September we will be joined by 26 y.o Shandra. Shandra will study Russian at the local university and undertake our internship and student discipleship with us.

There are some other maybes out there. Earlier in the year Nathan came to visit us. He and his wife are a couple years off getting to the field.
We met a guy in his 20s during our time in Australia that is also considering Siberia as a possibility when he finishes Bible college.
This past week we have been privileged to receive a visit from Mike. Mike is from Connecticut and has been living in Kazakhstan since February. He has been considering various teams in our part of the world and just might choose ours.

Waiting for Mike in the Krasnoyarsk international terminal arrival hall at 2:30 am. (zzzzzz)

Mike stayed with us for a week. We started out with a visit to the Vineyard church, followed by a trip to the State Museum. Here's Mike standing in front of a Dolgan house sled.

I gave Mike a run down on the Siberian people groups and their context here in our part of Siberia.

After the museum we went off to the yurt and had some delicious Altai tea, honey and mountain cranberries.

Through out the rest of the week Mike was able to meet some of our Evenki friends- Sergei, who was a real encouragement; and Galina at her dacha.

During the week we had plenty of opportunity to explain our vision to Mike, going through our team handbook and internship prospectus. We'll wait and see what Mike decides at the end of September.
