"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Further up, further in

Our trip north of Tynda stretched into new frontiers for Siberian railways. The railway is being built all the way to Yakutsk city. Passenger trains don't go that far yet, but the railway nearly does. There is along term plan to build a railway further east to the city of Magadan. There is even a possibility that the line will one day go all the way across the Bering Strait. No one should say that Russians don't know how to dream big.

The railway goes up into some highlands where the trees becomes sparse and landscape tundra-esque.

One of the few actual train stations on the line. Many of the stops just have a tin shed at present and no tickets for sale.

The train pulling into Kuranakh, where we met up with Riko and his family.

The shed at the Kuranakh, um "train stop".
