"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Lake and mountain shots

(Lake) Issyk Kul (kul means lake in Kyrgyz) is at 1600m above sea level. The water is only very slightly salty, but this prevents it from melting. In turn this creates a micro climate which is relatively warm in the Winter time and cooler in Summer time than the rest of the country, and certainly contrastive from Bishkek. It was probably a full ten degrees cooler at the lake than in Bishkek. But we still had pleasant weather from 20-25 degrees.
The mountains surround the entire lake and many remain snow capped all year. These mountains are part of a range called Tian Shan that stretches into China, and are actually an extension of the Himalayas.
It was hard to get a shot of clarity against a perfectly blue sky. But there were still some spectacular views, that hopefully these photos give a hint about.
