The return of the long awaited "what the?" is here. While I was away in Yakutia, Melody told me that we were having a new lift put in our entrance hall. The project was supposed to be finished by October 15th. They ran overtime by at least two weeks. For the last few days we have been using it again. Considering that PJ often flops himself on the ground and refuses to walk, a lift does come in handy for getting him up to our 3rd floor.
Today Melody and PJ took the lift after they came home from children's centre. Our brand new lift decided not to open the doors for Melody and PJ. They were stuck in there for 20 minutes! When Melody pressed the assistance button, she was greeted by a very grumpy woman. When the people did come to free Melody and PJ, they did not bother to communicate. They just turned the lights off, and when the door opened half way Melody forced her way out.
All the while they were building our new lift I kept saying to Melody that it was a waste of time and money, because after all our old lift did work. It had some idiosyncrasies, but we never got stuck in it. Ahhh, Russia. :) You gotta laugh sometimes.

You gotta laugh indeed. So pleased you still can. Enjoy reading your posts in a strange but beautiful land. Closed doors, its an interesting idea. The West still thinks it has access to every room in the universe, but a man who was deeply frustrated by men's inability to see the contents of a quite small room, realised just who closed the door and a bit of why.
