"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Ice skating to the eternal finish line

I've introduced Sergei before. He's an Evenki friend from up north. I kinda like the fact that he turned up unannounced yesterday. We've been going through a number of stories about Jesus. Sergei is making a confession of Jesus in his life these days. It's pretty slow going though. And we are not the type to push. He's a funny guy, but there's a lot of baggage.
I'm praying for the Lord to heal him of his baggage, for release and transformation. Please pray with us too. Last night we talked about what it means to follow Jesus. It seemed like as good time as any to share communion, so we did around the dinner table.

Step by step, easy does it.

We all, including Sergei have a race to run. When Jesus says to us "well done good and faithful servant, you may now enter into your rest" we will have run the race. We are called to make disciples, not converts. Sergei is the Lord's.
