The cabins where we stayed in Ergaki park. There was a generator at night for light, other than that we used an outdoor dunny.



While staying in the forest, three of us decided to go for a hike. The map clearly showed a road to the lake. But the owners of the cabins insisted we take a paid guide with us. Like many a crazy guide he insisted in taking us over the road and through waist high thick wet vegetation and then a marsh to reach the lake. It was a very beautiful hike, but less than comfortable in some points. All the way he pointed out signs of bears to us. Oh joy, maybe it was worth having a guide after all.

The end destination point on our hike was this lake. It took us about 1.5 hours to get there. On a hot day I was quite thirsty, and my jeans were quite dirty.
