"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

On route to Australia

Yesterday we left Saskatchewan and farewelled family. It was a confusing time for Abigail. She didn't really want to say goodbye to people at all.
The last shot in the Prairie education series is an aerial view. I hope it gives you a good understanding of the land, which is quite flat, has few trees, but many lakes and ponds.

We flew via Calgary to Abbotsford airport in British Columbia. It was kind of funny walking out of the plane in Abbotsford to farm smells prompting me to dub it the "farmers airport." Chad picked us up and took us back to his place in Chilliwack.

Chad and Mary met at Bible School in Sweden. Mary is from Ukraine and Chad from BC. Melody met them both there and became good friends, even attending their wedding in Ukraine back in 2001. We haven't seen Chad and Mary for 5 years so it is great to catch up. Their little girl Tatyana did not make it into the photo.

Tomorrow we drive 120 kms with Mary into Vancouver for our 17 hour flight to Singapore, where we will spend the weekend with some friends from Australia.

Boy, you really know how to make long journeys long - I just assumed you were hopping on a plane and would be in Oz thirty hours or so later. Good to catch up with friends though and your Japanese (?) dinner looks pretty good. The mountains in the Chilliwack photo look fantastic. Safe journeying!

Well it's never 30 hours later and I can never sleep on the plane, so I end up feeling nearly dead going 60 hours without sleep, which I have done before. I prefer to get some sleep along the way, and since we have people to see anyway, it's worth it.

You likely have a lot of things in common with couples like this. Ever so good to keep in touch. Mary is looking just like the pics from bible school in Sweden.
