Back in Russia

We returned from Canada to Russia on August 12th. Our two months in Canada were enjoyable at times but also hard work. There were a lot of people to see and we had to do a lot of traveling. We were living in other people's homes, sometimes feeling like we were stepping on toes.

So we were relieved to return to our own home and space. For my perspective the weather this past Summer was disappointing. April and May in Spring were cold and wet, so much that football season never got off the ground. Meanwhile in Canada in May they were having plenty of warm weather. By the time we arrived in Saskatchewan in June things were hot back in Krasnoyarsk, but cool and wet in Canada. July in Canada warmed up and we had some both warm and hot days. But by the time we got home to Krasnoyarsk in August the weather was cooling down and rainy (it had been very hot in Krasnoyarsk for both June and July). It felt like we only had one month of Summer.

Our friend Masha was in the city in August. Most of our Sakha friends were back in Yakutia or on their practical somewhere. We were glad to have Masha around. Her son Erchim was also with her for the Summer. We had a few weeks of the kids being able to play together before he went back to Yakutia in September.
