"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."- St. Peter. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Jesus.

Aftermath and renewal

We drove to King Lake on Mother's Day, one of the scenes of the past Summer's devastating bushfires which killed 173 people.
There's new growth and still much devastation. We made it to the town, some of which has survived. The people are just emmerging from their shell shock now. We had lunch in a little cafe and then drove home. Needless to say, we did not take any photos of the town out of sensitivity to the people who live there.
